Ford's New Mustang Mach-E

Ford’s new Mustang Mach-E is one of the hottest electric vehicles on the market right now – indeed, it’s one of the hottest vehicles, period. From the moment this electric sports crossover was announced, customer interest was very strong, and every vehicle being built is already designated for a customer.

With limited vehicles to choose from on dealer lots, if you want a Mach-E, you’re probably going to be ordering one.

How We'd Spec a Ford Mustang Mach-E

2022 Mustang Mach-E Premium: $49,100 MSRP

The Premium trim sits in the middle of the lineup, in between the entry-level Select and top-of-the-line GT trims (California buyers also have access to the Route 1 trim, not available in other states). Standard equipment includes 19” machined-face alloy wheels, Ford’s BlueCruise active cruise control technology, a 360-degree camera system, panoramic fixed-glass roof, power liftgate, LED projector headlamps, heated seats and steering wheel, Bang & Olufsen sound system, power memory seats, and more.

Extended-Range Battery, RWD: $6,000

This is a no-brainer. Most customers go for the extended-range battery, which bumps range from an EPA estimated range 224 miles to 303 miles. California does not get a lot of winter weather, so rear-wheel drive provides a sporty feel and better range than the all-wheel drive option (277 miles). The 91-kWh battery powers a single rear motor producing 290 horsepower, making for a 6.1-second 0-60 time.

Space white metallic: $0

For resale value, some people recommend a conservative color –greys and whites work best for the Mach-E, as black hides many of its most distinctive features. However, some customers go for more adventurous standout colors like Grabber Blue and Cyber Orange.

Perforated ActiveX Seating in Black Onyx: $0

Two interior choices are available, both in a stylish synthetic leather called ActiveX. If you have kids, the darker choice is definitely what to go for. The Space Gray option looks great, but Ford actually suggests customers who have families, or whose vehicles will see heavy use, that the light grey interior can stain.

Interior Protection Package: $240

The interior protection package replaces carpet mats with sturdier floor liners in the passenger foot wells, and also adds a rubber cargo area protector.

Destination & Handling: $1,100

There was a little extra added for vehicle delivery, since this vehicle wasn't available locally.

Total Price With Addons (Based on MSRP): $56,440

Ford has done a great job with the Mach-E, making the package simple for dealers and customers. It is simply a great crossover EV. It is also eligible for incentives and rebates. Check the GreenCars EV incentive tool to help you maximize your savings.
