How it Works

Between April 22nd and December 31st, GreenCars will plant one tree for every qualifying test drive completed at participating Lithia&Driveway (NYSE:LAD) stores through our partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation. Here's how it works. Find a store near you and take a test drive in a qualifying electric, hybrid or fuel-efficient vehicle. After your test drive, scan the QR code located on the GreenCars hang tag inside the vehicle. Fill out and submit the short form telling us about your experience and we'll plant a tree on your behalf! It's that easy.

PLANTING LONGLEAF PINES

GreenCars is helping reforest the Florida Panhandle by planting 100,000 Longleaf Pine trees across the Eglin Air Force Base in partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation.

The longleaf pine grows to a height of 60–80' and a spread of 30–40' at maturity and is an incredibly valuable species. Once the dominant tree in the South, providing habitat to animals like the red-cockaded woodpecker and gopher tortoise. However, it was cut down at a rapid rate, and now covers just a fraction of the land it used to.

Widespread restoration efforts are needed to keep the land within Elgin Air Force Base thriving for generations to come. In 2022, more than 500,000 longleaf pine trees will be planted across the base, reducing forest fragmentation and protecting the many endangered wildlife that call the area home.
